Work Day, Baby.
Bike, jump rope — I’m getting good at that, btw — TRX, biceps. Abs on the TRX, including roll outs and the plank torture thing. Oh, the burn.
The work day’s begun.

I dunno… I just felt like running, I guess. 4.2 miles roundtrip today out on a relatively cool day here in the Ozarks.
The work day’s begun.

A productive weekend exercising. Swam a mile Friday, Saturday and Sunday and after an hour of stretching will swim another mile today. On top of that., I had an hour and half of my 6am Friday basketball. Watch out Dan, Daddy is coming. Bill
6:30 a.m. I’m the only one at the gym. The lousy radio DJs are off today, because it’s Memorial Day, so it’s all music — bad music, but it’s music — on the gym sound system.
And lo and behold: The gym has a TRX-style contraption installed! So today was TRX, jump rope, and then some abs to finish.
Done done done.

It’s a work day, people.

After a lazy day yesterday — unacceptable, I think — I got back at it today. I took a 1.9 mile warm up run. Then a set of suicides. Then I headed over to gym for bench, biceps, and abs. Some medicine ball crunches in there, obliques, even some bench press abs.
The work day’s underway.

I walked into the gym today. There a husband and wife on the treadmill. The wife looks at me, then at her husband. “Honey,” she says, “I think your trainer is here.”
So that’s going to go to my head.
A good day at the gym otherwise: More jump rope — I’m really enjoying that, btw — and then tons of abs. Two minutes of butterfly crunches, some obliques, some standard crunches, even some Supermen. Also some incline bench and pecs.
Done done done.

Here’s to the days when the work is good. When the work is what you want. When the work is what you don’t expect.
Here’s to the days where the work comes in unexpected places.
Here’s to the days when the work makes you smile, and when the work makes you wince, and sometimes all at once.
Here to the days when the work gets done.
The work got done today — a couple miles of jogging, suicides and sprints. Even some grapevine and high knees thrown in.
Here’s to the days like today.

It was a productive weekend for an old man. Swam 1 mile Friday, 1/2 mile Saturday (ran out of time), and followed up with about a 20 mile bike ride on Sunday, capped off with another mile swim. Feeling pretty good today. The pool opens for good this Friday, so I’m hoping to improve my swimming this summer. Bill
